Don’t we all want success in our lives? Whether it’s doing your dream job, starting a business, or not failing school (let’s be honest), success can be earned through hard work and determination. But sometimes it’s hard to know exactly where to start. In order to be the best and most successful version of yourself, follow these simple tips below: ↓
Habit #1: Wake Up Early and Get Busy!
I know it can be super hard to wake up early, and not only that, but once you wake up, it can feel impossible to get moving. Try getting up 30 mins earlier than you normally do. When you wake up, splash your face with cold water to refresh yourself, and then get a move on. If you want to go to the gym, force yourself to do it. Maybe you want to start working right when you wake up. In the moment, you may feel too tired to get anything done, but trust me, if you get out of bed and eat a good breakfast, you will quickly realize that you can get a head start on your success by adding a few more hours to your day.
Habit #2: Plan Out Your Morning the Night Before.
Even if you start waking up earlier than you normally do, it can be hard to make time for everything you need to get done in the morning. In order to feel the least bit rushed and the most prepared, it’s important to prepare everything you need for the morning, the night before.
That means:
- Planning out your outfit
- Check the weather, and choose something that will make you feel good
- Making your breakfast, lunch, or even dinner
- Meal prepping, or making foods the night before that you can eat or pack in the morning will save you some much needed time
- Packing your bag
- Put any binders, books, chargers, or snacks into your bag so you don’t forget anything when you are rushing around in the morning
Habit #3: Time Block.
Time blocking is a relatively new topic for me, but I can assure you that incorporating this into you life will keep you on-task and productive all day long. Basically, by breaking up one task or multiple tasks into short increments of time, you won’t feel like you’ve been working on the same thing for hours. Instead, you will be more focused and driven when you work, because you will only be working “for ten minutes,” or a little longer, when in actuality, you could be working on the same thing for hours, but you will be breaking it up into shorter time periods, making it seem like less work. There are many articles and Youtube videos that talk more in depth about time blocking, but you should definitely give it a try.
Habit #4: Clean Your Space.
If the space where you work or where you live isn’t clean, you won’t feel productive. This may not seem true, but trust me, it definitely is. It is so important to schedule a few minutes (or longer) every day to put away the clothes around your room or clean the surface of your desk. I’ve found that when my room and my workspace is clean, I feel clean and refreshed too, and I am ready to take on the day. You don’t need to spend a long time doing it, in fact, I normally give myself only five minutes to tidy up my space before I go to bed after a long day of school.
Habit #5: Get Inspired!
Look at Pinterest, or read some blog posts like you’re doing now. Just get in the productive mindset and use that to your advantage. When I’m feeling unmotivated, I sit down and watch Youtube videos to help me feel motivated to use the hours in my day wisely. Once I’m inspired, I try to get as much done before I feel burnt out, and then I get inspired again! Trust me…if you aren’t being as productive as you want to be, take a few minutes to get motivated again and get up and at it!
